Striking the right balance
The key to a beautiful face is balance. Did you know that a more prominent or projected chin can make your face look slimmer and your nose look smaller?
The use of a little dermal filler can enhance the shape and size of the chin and jawline, restoring a sense of harmony and proportion to the face. Dermal filler can correct the appearance of an asymmetrical or pointy chin, help sharpen and define the jawline, and even disguise the look of jowls.
Maybe you were born with a smaller chin, or perhaps you lost some of the projection you once had due to age. As we get older, we lose bone and soft tissue in the chin, and our skin becomes slack. This can obscure the distinction between the jawline and neck. Fat may also accumulate under the chin with age, causing loss of definition. You may be a candidate for PCDC fat-dissolving injections, an injectable treatment that can help reduce small pockets of stubborn fat beneath the chin. It may be used alongside jawline filler for a more defined look. Results vary.

Men and women alike benefit from these minimally invasive techniques to enhance their profile. A strong, chiseled jaw on a man is associated with strength and confidence. Our licensed injectors can assess whether you’re a candidate for this type of treatment and design a plan for a more balanced profile. Results vary.
How it works
Most of the filler on the market today is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in our skin and helps keep it plump and hydrated. It has a gel-like consistency and is injected underneath the skin to restore volume, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, or enhance the contours of the face. The results achieved with this type of filler can last up to a year or two, but this varies based on several factors, including how long it takes your body to absorb and metabolize the hyaluronic acid. If for any reason you’re not happy with the result, there is an enzyme that can be used to dissolve these fillers.
If you'd like a more lasting result, you can choose to have Radiesse injected to enhance your chin or jawline. Radiesse is a calcium-based collagen biostimulator that adds structure while encouraging your skin's own collagen — an excellent choice for deeper structural filling such as this. Results vary.
Once the injector assesses your unique facial structure and anatomy, he or she will devise the appropriate treatment plan. Small amounts of dermal filler will be injected in several places along the jawline or in the chin. This fills in the area from the inside out, causing the contour to change. If there is any loose skin along the jawline, this helps to fill it out, making the area appear younger and tighter.

The entire treatment takes about thirty minutes. After the injections, you can resume normal daily activities. You’ll want to avoid rubbing or touching the treated area for some time and sleep with your head elevated for a few days.
You may experience some slight swelling after your treatment. Swelling should subside over the next couple of days. Be sure to follow up with your practitioner if you have any questions or concerns following your appointment.
Whether you desire a more defined jawline, a longer or rounder chin, or just crave better facial balance, dermal filler is a quick and minimally invasive option.
