Botox vs. Jeuveau in Orlando: What’s the Difference?

Botox and Jeuveau are more alike than different, and most of what is written about choosing between them is marketing. Both are FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectables, and both soften expression lines by the same mechanism: temporarily reducing the muscle contraction that creases the skin above it. At One Aesthetics in College Park we carry Botox, Jeuveau and Dysport, and which one you receive is a clinical decision your provider makes with you.

What they genuinely share

  • The same active ingredient class — botulinum toxin type A.

  • The same mechanism, and the same areas treated: frown lines between the brows, forehead lines, crow's feet.

  • A similar duration for most people, typically around three to four months.

  • A similar onset window, with movement softening over several days rather than instantly.

If you have had a good result with one, you are likely to have a good result with another. The differences below are real but modest.

Where they actually differ

Jeuveau is sometimes called "Newtox" because it is the most recent of the three to market and, unlike the others, it was developed purely for cosmetic use rather than adapted from medical applications. Some people report it taking effect slightly faster. The evidence for meaningful differences in longevity between products is weaker than the marketing suggests.

Dysport behaves a little differently again: it tends to diffuse slightly more from the injection point, which can be an advantage across broader areas like the forehead and a disadvantage where precision matters most.

One practical point that catches people out: the units are not interchangeable. A unit of Dysport is not equivalent to a unit of Botox, so comparing a quoted number of units between products — or between clinics using different products — tells you very little. Compare the plan and the result, not the unit count.

How we choose

Your provider maps your facial anatomy before any product is chosen: how strong the muscle is, how your brow sits, what has worked or not worked for you before. Someone who has plateaued on one product is a reasonable candidate to try another. Someone happy with their current result has no particular reason to switch.

We will tell you honestly if we think the answer is fewer units rather than a different brand. Overtreatment is the more common problem in this industry than undertreatment.

Will I look frozen?

Not here. The goal is softening movement, not removing it — you should still look like yourself, with expression intact. If you have been overdone somewhere else before, say so at the consultation, because it changes how we plan and how conservatively we start.

What to expect

Treatment itself takes around fifteen minutes with little to no downtime. You may have small raised bumps at the injection points for a short time, and occasionally a little bruising. Results appear over roughly three to seven days and build to their full effect after about two weeks — which is when we would review, not on the day.

Most people return every three to four months. Individual results vary.

Frequently asked questions

Do you actually stock Botox?

Yes. We carry genuine Botox alongside Jeuveau and Dysport. If you want Botox specifically, you can have it.

Is one cheaper than the other?

Pricing is personalised and discussed at your complimentary consultation, where you will get an exact quote. Be wary of comparing per-unit prices between products, for the reason above — the units are not equivalent.

Can I switch between them?

Yes, and plenty of people do. There is no need to stay on one product, and trying another is a reasonable step if your results have become less satisfying over time.

How soon before an event should I book?

Allow at least two weeks so the result has fully settled and any bruising has resolved. Two weeks also leaves room for a review appointment if anything needs adjusting.
